Explore Camp Long with UUCA
This year we are inviting members of our congregation to a retreat at Camp Long (4-H Leadership Center) in Aiken, SC. It will be a treat to gather together and enjoy this beautiful 400-acre property for a retreat weekend Saturday afternoon August 25th through Sunday morning August 26th.
We'll be able to enjoy waterfront activities including: beach area, kayaks and canoes, paddle boats, swimming, and fishing. In addition, here are some of the recreational activities we can look forward to: climbing wall, 500-foot zip line over the lake, softball field, tennis and badminton, airnasium basketball court, campfire area with seating. Meeting areas for our group include a Vesper Ring and fire pit, where we will have a Saturday evening bonfire gathering and talent show.
We will take advantage of the lodging (cabins with bunks) and dining hall (dinner and breakfast). We can leave after breakfast for our 11 am Sunday service back at UUCA.
This is a retreat that will be affordable and accessible for all ages and abilities. The price for accommodation, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and access to the camp activities and facilities, is $50 per adult and $40 per child. We regret that no pets are allowed on the camp grounds.
Even though this is very good value, if you would like to come but the cost is not within your means, we want you to be there. UUCA will be able to offer financial assistance to members who need help with payment. Please email Rev Gaye at email@example.com for details.
UUs Got Talent! At Camp Long Retreat
On Saturday night we will gather in the campfire area to share our talent. Can you sing, yodel, dance, do impersonations, tell a joke or story on your own or with others? Bring along a sense of humor and a desire to entertain.
Please reserve your place sooner rather than later so we can make plans for activities and food.
Please see the Camp Long brochure on the notice board in the hallway for more information about the site.
